    • The Ragnarök Conspiracy takes the plot-that-keeps-on-giving of the past two decades and turns it on its head: what would happen if a Western extremist group started launching terrorist attacks on Moslems? And what if the FBI agent who has to investigate this group lost a son in the 9/11 attacks? This is the dilemma John Savas – a former NYPD officer, now part of a special FBI counterterrorism team – faces when assassinations of Moslem extremists escalate into large-scale bombings of Islamic [...]

    • There were many deaths in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001, each causing their loved ones to grieve in their own way. FBI agent John Savas lost his son, who had only recently become a police officer, in the attacks. Ever since, he’s been emotionally fragile, which sometimes causes him difficulties on the job. Another man who lost his wife, while experiencing the same feelings of loss, has chosen to express his grief in another way. He has built a [...]

    • Erec Stebbins forces us to take a good look at ourselves and our potential to become the very monsters we wish to drive out of the world in this page turner. Motivated to write this story by the tragedy of 9/11, Mr. Stebbins weaves a tale of intrigue in which a fallen cop turned FBI agent begins to follow a trail of seemingly unrelated murders. What starts as a basic sting operation spirals out of control into a worldwide series of bombings that begins to push the world to the brink of a third w [...]

    • I won this book, an uncorrected advance reading copy. This was the best story I have read in this genre for many years. Erec Stebbins had a phenomenal idea when he wrote this book. He was sensational in creating the intricate web and bones of a fine book.At first I was put-off by the street-savvy "Sheikh" saying "ain't" more than I felt was appropriate. But, I was quickly won-over by the action and there is a lot of action in this read. Then, I believe I was run-over a bit--each and every time t [...]

    • In difficult times where the world has a very serious threat from terrorists the author has tackled this issue and written an excellent novel. When an unknown cell starts targeting Muslims the FBI have an urgent task to find out the perpetrators and bring them to justice. The very strong message that I got from the storyline is no matter what your beliefs are, killing and revenge are not the answer, there is more strength in forgiveness. The novels title says it all, taken from Norse Mythology R [...]

    • If you are fan of Tom Clancy or Robert Ludlum - then this is a book you will really enjoy! It kept me turning pages and I swallowed the novel whole in a few short days.I must confess some bias as the author is an old friend of mine from middle and high school. As adults we have not interacted often, but we used to write together some back in the day. I tried hard to hear his voice as I recall it in this book but I guess our childish writings of the past were a different cup of tea. I also must d [...]

    • I don't read a lot of thrillers, but this one seems to check all the boxes: ultra-evil dude engineers an apocalypse, and two wounded hero types have to get over their differences to save the world. Short chapters alternate between scenes of chaos and violence and sessions of problem-solving and teamwork. The main characters are given enough backstory to be interesting and show appealing human qualities. It's a well-constructed book of its type, with enough detail to be interesting without gettin [...]

    • I received this book for free from Giveaways. An interesting and well paced story about an FBI special team tasked with discovering who is behind the bombings and assassinations of Muslims. They discover a secret operation of highly trained former military members whose mission is World War III.

    • Wow! This starts strong! Lots going on but easy to follow. I really enjoyed this one; it's more like a 4.5 than a simple 4-stars. Some of the "mysteries" are not fully resolved (how did the villains all get connected?? and so on) and I personally regret it when highly principled good guys die (it's fictionlet me keep my good guys). I'll look for more by this author and definitely look for #2.

    • *** Warning: This review contains spoilers!! ***I picked this book off our home bookshelf. I don't usually read thrillers - so I am certainly not the target audience for this book - but since it was written by a childhood friend of Ken's, I figured I'd give it a shot.Mostly, reading this book felt just like watching an action movie. Everything that transpired was easily envisioned on a big screen, and the book even included what I consider the superfluous yet obligatory romance between the male [...]

    • I found The Ragnarok Conspiracy to be an instantly intense, gripping and compelling novel. Right from the start the intensity is high and the pace fast.John Savas himself fuels the momentum as he is the most intense character I’ve come across in a while. With each chapter more of Savas’ background and personality is revealed to the reader. The elements that make up John Savas are revealed at a pace that is almost- but not quite, as fast as the plot. First impressions are that it is well writ [...]

    • "Ragnarök Conspiracy" is a spine-tingling, emotionally gripping suspense thriller from the pen of Erec Stebbins that opens with two political assassinations; one in New York City, the other in London. In this story FBI Agent John Savas with his Intel 1 team must uncover the rogue terrorist organization that's responsible for assassinations, the destruction of religious sites and commando raids on terrorist centers before a political powderkeg explodes. What John Savas, a man haunted by his pers [...]

    • Erec Stebbins has created an intense story that touches at the very soul of intrigue with very human characters, full of flaws and the baggage of past nightmarish events that drive them to push through the bureaucratic sludge in an attempt to save the world from terrorist devastation. In a race against time, sometimes crossing the lines of “legalities,” FBI agent John Savas, along with his newly formed anti-terrorist team follow a winding trail littered with death and deceit, only to find th [...]

    • I like smart plotting more than anything except chicken Parmesan, and while this book has all the ingredients of a smart, ballsy thriller, it comes off a bit undercooked. Led by Agent John Savas, Intel 1 is a squad unit of backstage FBI charged with making sense of disasters by sifting through data and secret intel. When the team uncovers a “…string of assassinations of Islamic radicals” and terrorist attacks on Saudi embassies that are carried out by an army of ruthless commandos using co [...]

    • I won this book through a giveaway. To be honest, I have yet to find the time to sit down and enjoy this book from beginning to end, but it has been sitting on my shelf for quite some timeAnyway, I entered this giveaway without really knowing what to expect. (This is a trend of mine when it comes to giveaways) Anyway, upon reading the excerpt, I found that this book could be (and most likely is) very engaging. While there was an apparent rise in 9/11 related literature (fictional and non-fictio [...]

    • FBI agent John Savas and his team investigate the world's most dangerous terrorist organization, not Muslim terrorists but American madmen bent on creating a world conflict between the West and the Muslim world. To complicate the situation, the team's superiors are reluctant to consider the evidence, as slim as it is, frustrating the investigation. This is a fast paced novel of suspense, intrigue, and action. In my opinion, the characters are well developed, perhaps not perfectly defined, but be [...]

    • Having read a number of Erec Stebbins novels and having enjoyed them all, I decided to read his debut novel to see how good he was when he first burst on the scene as a published author. Overall, I was not disappointed but was not overwhelmed. The story started out with high potential for an outstanding novel of intrigue and a great thriller. Halfway through I was thinking how great the book was and ready to rate 5 stars. The more I read I started to think that it was getting a bit wonky and far- [...]

    • A real action packed page turner. Fast paced, intense thriller with a touch of romance. Humans with flaws and past events that push them to work to save the world from terrorist. FBI agent John Savas with his anti terrorist team follow trails left behind only to find out they lead to Christians fighting Islam. Time is important. Have to stop them before destruction is released on the world. A book that has you setting on the edge of your seat. Makes you feel like you are there, like it is real, [...]

    • I received the Ragnarok Conspiracy through a first reads giveaway. As a fan of books full of action I thoroughly enjoyed the Ragnarok Conspiracy. Erec Stebbins has created an action packed thriller that was gripping right from the start which also contains some heartfelt moments. The idea behind the novel is quite interesting as it uses the events of 9/11 to fuel the hatred of a new terrorist organization intent targeting Islam. It's a fast-paced adventure where you genuinely care about the char [...]

    • The FBI and CIA are in a race to stop attacks in sites holy to Muslims in order to prevent a war pitting religion against religion, a war of the worst type. I was blown away from the very beginning all the way to the very end. So many plot twists, so much suspense. It has been an incredibly long time since I've picked up a book and felt like I never wanted to let it go. The Ragnarok Conspiracy combines realistic situations, current events, terror, and fanaticism in this sure to please thriller.

    • If there is any justice at all this should be one of the best sellers of the fall. Great plot, well written, and super characters. I was lucky enough to get and ARC of this one, and I'm so glad I did. I probably would have passed it up in the bookstore, but I would have missed one helluva read. I don't want to give anything away - just want to say that you should read it if you like any type of thriller. This is a real winner. It should hit the stores in October.

    • I liked this book to an extent. The alternate take on what could have happened within our world had certain things occurred in different ways. The pace of the book seems to be just right, to the point where you don't really want to put it down because you are eager to find out what will happen next. The writing style wasn't my favourite, just a few pet peeves that kept distracting me from the story, but nothing major.I received the book for free through First Reads.

    • ***Won a copy from First-Reads Giveaway***~ Thank You to Erec Stebbins~ What a great read! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. A very intense pulse pounding story of terrorism, conspiracy, and a splash of romance. If you love thrillers, action, and adventure definitely pick up a copy of this book. You will not be disappointed. Look forward to reading more from this author.

    • Making allowances for this being a first novel, we have wooden prose delivering a reasonably interesting plot about international terrorism.opionator.wordpress/2012/0

    • Thank you First Reads and Erec Stebbins for this book! I loved it, think Tom Clancy meets James Rollins meets Dan Brown. Awesome plot of conspiracy high paced thrills and escaping death by the skin of your teeth! Loved it! Thanks!

    • Hmmm, not sure this really works, a reverse 9-11 thriller where an American industrialists funds a terror network against Islamic targets around the world while thwarting all US intelligence efforts. How plausible is this in reality? Author just didn't quite pull this one off.

    • This book had nuanced characters, each with convincing motivations; superb research with just enough detail - and best of all, a thrilling conclusion.
